It’s #FollowFriday, which means the never-ending list of Twitter handles in your stream. Last week, Chris Brogan wrote about using your blog to recommend people to follow instead of just sending handles in 140 character bytes.

As many of you know, we did that for most of last year and it really was a lot of fun. (and we still think it’s a great idea!) In fact, quite a few people are still doing it, including Kat Jaibur, Julio Varela, and Gabriella Sannino. If you are on Twitter and you want reasons to follow new people, I recommend checking out their blogs (no pressure to the three of you!).

This year we’ve decided to take #FollowFriday to another level by recommending just one blog for you to read each week. The author may or may not be on Twitter, but the blog is one we read and find extremely valuable. We hope you do, too!

Follow, read, and subscribe to Jeff Bullas. Jeff is an Aussie and I love that Al Gore invented the Internet so we can truly have a flattened world. Otherwise, how would I have met someone like Jeff? Unfortunately, I’ve not actually ever talked to him so I can’t tell you if he has that super cool Australian accent.

His blog is simple, Jeff Bullas’s blog. I first discovered him when he blogged about 30 ways to make your blog rock. I had 10 additional tips, which I shared on his blog in the comments, and then blogged about it here, as well.

There are two things I really like about him:

1. He is completely transparent, as is evident by the third-party scores he provides of his own content on the blog (see Twitter and Web site grades, for instance); and

2. He’s really freaking smart!

You’ll learn a great deal by reading his blog. Tell him I sent you!
