Someone needs to speak up for pigs!

Recently, like most Americans I have been watching the flurry of media regarding the swine flu also known as the H1N1 virus and the reference to its being a pandemic.  Fox Business recently reported http://bit.ly/gRyfQ  that officials led by U.S. Agriculture Secretary Tom Vilsack are waging a battle against bad public relations targeting the pig.

Great PR move in rough spending times

We keep hearing about big corporations receiving money for bailouts, bonuses, and obviously as an average working American Joe, who knows where the money is or where it is going. On a brighter light, there is at least one large company, Disney, trying to do well for moviegoers and the environment.

PR team makes a smooth move

According to an article on Entertainment Weekly’s Web site, “Octomom,” Nadya Suleman’s PR team “gave up on her” after receiving threatening calls and letters.

In response to: “New Year’s Resolutions Journalists Wish PR Practitioners Would Make.”

As I read through your wish list of resolutions you would like public relations professionals to commit to — while I completely agree with and understand your frustration — I am hopeful you have ever encountered a successful relationship with a public relations practitioner. I agree with every one of your resolutions, especially those regarding [...]

Does it work? Does it matter?

A few weeks ago, Stove Top launched a new ad campaign by installing heated light bulbs into 10 CTA bus stops around Chicago. These hot signs allowed patient pedestrians to feel the warmth as they developed a strong craving for Stove Top Stuffing.

Chicago marathon: Come and gone?

Bank of America Chicago Marathon held last weekend on the streets of Chicago had 45,000 people registered to run.  Only 33,000 of those showed up, and not being a runner myself but an interested viewer, I heard very little about the race at all.

Who Should We Believe?

Well, Paris Hilton took part in another video, but this time her video is rated “E” for educational. Hilton’s video on superstar comedian, Will Farrell’s Funny or Die Web site was a response to one of John McCain’s negative public relations stunts of comparing his rival, Barack Obama, to celebrities Paris Hilton and Britney Spears. [...]

Politics aren't so bad? …Who knew!?

As I entered into my first year in college, the 2004 political debate was at its peak. Students living on my floor gathered in the hallways at night to discuss candidates, issues, and who was right or wrong until their faces beat red. But I never got it. I never understood how people could tolerate [...]

All Star Center Fielder Josh Hamilton Finally Received a Break — or Has He?

Hamilton is the story heard around baseball — drafted number one overall in 1999 by the Tampa Bay Rays, a golden boy that idolized The Natural, a fictional character played by Robert Redford in one of the greatest sports movies ever.  But, like you see in many cases, young adults with access to all the [...]
